Brazilian police have arrested a glamorous businesswoman for repeatedly shooting a man who “mistakenly” entered her home “thinking it was his estranged wife’s”.
CCTV footage from Franca, Sao Paulo State, shows how gun-wielding Angela Carla Gomes drives after the intruder as he tries to flee.
Gomes, 34, can be seen getting out of her pickup truck at a junction and firing at least three shots towards him as he tries to jog away on 26th August.
She then gets back into her car and appears to follow hapless Fabio de Andrade Junior as he tries to flee down the road.
Two of her shots hit De Andrade, 41, in the foot, while a third grazed his elbow. He was later found injured and taken to hospital, where medics bandaged up his foot.
Following the ordeal, he told local media he had mistaken the mum-of-two’s house for his estranged wife’s.
After realising his mistake – he claimed – he had left but was followed by the big-chested businesswoman.
After the shooting, police were called and arrested 34-year-old Gomes, who was later released on bail after a custody hearing.
Snaps on her Instagram account – where she boasts 2,300 followers – shows her posing with the same gun she used to shoot De Andrade.
Gomes – say local media – claims to have a firearms licence. However, she reportedly faces charges of illegal firearm possession and causing bodily harm.
De Andrade is being investigated for trespassing.
Gomes’s lawyer, Ana Carolina de Morais Colombaroli, says her client acted in self-defence after De Andrade broke into her house in search of another woman and “threatened to kill anyone in the house”.
De Andrade denies accusations of burglary.
