Brazil’s famous ghost rider has been sighted again after a bike with an apparently invisible rider was spotted whizzing down a street in Brazil as a car swerves to avoid it.
The incident, which was caught on a street CCTV camera, took place in Capelinha, in the state of Minas Gerais, on Saturday, 2nd December.
It happened just over a month after a similar incident in broad daylight in October when a driverless motorcycle sped through an intersection at high speed.
The mysterious incident that happened earlier also took place in Brazil, on Donia Filhinha Street, in the Dom Abel sector of Jatai, in the state of Goias on Sunday, 15th October.
In the latest incident, the footage shows the bike emerging out of nowhere and going downhill down a street as a white car swerves and comes to a stop to avoid being hit by it.
The Capelinha Military Police, who were investigating the incident, said they believe the bike was from an incident when the rider had suffered an accident during which they collided with another vehicle and fell off the bike.
The cops said the bike then continued on down the road on its own.
In the previous incident, security camera footage had captured the motorcycle racing along at high speed as it approached and crossed an intersection before apparently beginning to veer off the road as it disappeared off camera.
A man who had parked his car nearby in the neighbourhood demanded to see CCTV cameras after he discovered that it had crashed into his car, leaving it dented, scratched, and missing a side mirror.
He started investigating upon seeing the motorcycle lying in a vacant space nearby and assumed someone had crashed into his car and run off.
He was, however, stunned when he obtained security camera footage from a neighbour, which revealed the path taken by the motorcycle and the absence of a rider.
They reviewed the astonishing footage for about 20 minutes and, upon returning outside, found that the motorcycle had disappeared.
The owner of the damaged car shared the footage online with the caption: “Jatai is the place where random things happen. If I said it, no one would believe it. Look at this.”
The uncommon incident sparked speculation within the neighbourhood, prompting individuals to question how the motorcycle managed to move without a visible rider and then vanished after the crash.
The incident was not reported to the police.
