The little brother of a member of Colombia’s Women’s World Cup squad has been shot dead in revenge killing over his crooked life as a loan shark, it has emerged.

Paulo Andres Carabali, 23, was gunned down after sisterJorelyn’s team took on England’s Lionesses in the tournament quarter finals on 12th August.
England won the heat 2-1 and is facing host nation Australia in the semi-finals today (16th August).
The police said her brother was shot dead while with friends in the early hours of 14th August at a nightclub in the city of Cali where he worked as a DJ.
They have linked the shooting to his activities as a notorious loan shark.
Colonel William Quintero of Cali Metropolitan Police said: “The homicide of a person occurred inside a night establishment, where according to what has been determined with the security staff, a suspect entered and shot him repeatedly and took his life.”

He added that the victim was reportedly involved in loan sharking activities and that could have been the reason he was killed.
Colombia’s football federation said welcome-home festivities for the team’s return would be held as planned despite the shooting.
Colombia’s football federation also said that defender 26-year-old Jorelyn had thanked her teammates for their support.
No arrests had been reported at the time of writing.
