This is the street justice moment a man who later confessed to killing a four-year-old girl is attacked by an angry mob.

Victim Kemilly Hadassa Silva had disappeared from her bedroom in Nova Iguacu, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, in the early hours of 9th December while her mother was out.

In disturbing phone video footage recorded the following day, on 10th December, the prime suspect is seen being led away from his nearby home by a shouting mob of neighbours.

As he is dragged away by the wrist, the suspect, said to be Kemilly’s cousin, is punched and battered as the footage ends.

Local media reports that he was later seized by police and confessed to the killing. After being questioned by police in Belford Roxo, officers found Kemilly’s body in an animal feed bag beside a nearby river.

Police forensic officers are also examining bloodstains at a local house believed to belong to Kemilly’s cousin.

Local media reported that Kemilly and her two brothers had been left home alone while their mother was out. The siblings’ aunt was supposed to be babysitting them.

Heartbroken mum Suelen Silva said: “I gave them dinner, I put them to sleep. They slept. Then at half past midnight, I left because my sister looks after them for me because we practically live in the same house.

“Then she watches them for me. When I got back, she was no longer there. Just her two brothers.”

She added: “She was a doll. She would love to wear makeup and ask if she was beautiful.”

The police investigation is ongoing.
