A young mother has been shot in the head by her abusive ex-boyfriend, seen here smiling with a gun, who callously told the dead woman’s mother in a phone call that he had murdered her.
Tallyta Costa, 24, was shot in her head as she was leaving work on Todos os Santos Street, in the municipality of Carapicuíba, in the Brazillian state of Sao Paulo on Wednesday, 18th October.
Tallyta’s ex-boyfriend of two years, Luciano Rosa da Silva, 25, with whom she had a child, is the main suspect.
On the day of the crime, Tallyta’s mother, who has not been named, reportedly called her daughter, but Da Silva answered saying: “I killed your daughter.”
The woman immediately told police, who found the victim dead at the scene.
Da Silva, who fled after the crime, was “unhealthily jealous” of the victim, her mother told the police.
A friend of Tallyta said: “Tallyta, so young and full of life, but today her life is interrupted. Today a mother, a daughter and a friend die. And with great sadness, through feminicide another life is broken, another woman eternally wounded.
“Now no message for it will be read, but we still have the tributes that symbolize her passage in this life.
“With a lot of pain in our hearts, we women ask for justice and for them to stop taking our lives. Rest in peace.”
Local media said that Tallyta had already filed a complaint with the police for domestic violence against Da Silva.
Public Security Secretariat (SSP) said: “Subsequently, the victim returned to have a relationship with the perpetrator.
“The case remains under investigation through a police investigation initiated by the DDM [Civil Police unit] of Carapicuiba.”
The police found and seized the car Da Silva used to escape.
In the car, the police found drugs and the weapon used in the crime.
