This is the moment police in Brazil break up a secret cocaine airline running drugs worth millions of pounds across South America.

The footage shows officers seizing two aircraft at remote airstrips said to have been used to traffick the drugs between Bolivia and Brazil.

The aircraft, according to local media, are worth BRL 5 million (GBP 800,000).

The police also seized cocaine weighing 77 kilogrammes (170 lbs) and worth nearly GBP 6 million.

Federal Police spokesperson Bruno Gama told local media: “The seized planes were used to transport the drugs from Bolivia to our country, arriving in Mato Grosso, and from there the drug came to Goias.”

He added: “They were planes acquired by the criminal organisation.

“They were registered under the names of frontmen to avoid identifying the criminal group involved in international drug trafficking.”

Two aircraft were seized, one in Goiania and one in Londrina, in the Brazilian state of Parana, on Friday, 1st September and on Saturday, 2nd September.

The farm is located in Cocalinho, in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso.

Five raids were carried out in total last week targeting the organisation, including raids on three different airstrips. The police said they had made three arrests.

The investigation is ongoing.
