A Brazilian businesswoman has been left unable to open an eye after a botox operation that was discounted for Black Friday went wrong.

Denize Alves, 39, had the op in the popular resort town of Vila Velha on Braril’s south-eastern coast.

But the relatively simple plastic surgery procedure went horribly wrong leaving her blind in one eye for over a week and now she is in a race against time to have the effects reversed.

Denize has filed a complaint with the police, who are reportedly investigating.

She said that she went to a beauty clinic on Thursday, 16th November to take advantage of a BRL 650 (GBP 104.21) deal during the Black Friday sales.

Denize said: “I’ve been doing botox preventively since I was 33, but with a professional from another area.

“As I also went to this beauty clinic for a lymphatic drainage a few years ago, this procedure was offered at a greater discount. But this ‘deal’ ended up costing a lot.”

She said that the procedure appeared to have gone well at first but two days later her eye started to droop.

She at first thought it was some kind of allergic reaction but after seeing a doctor and having treatment for an allergy, her situation did not improve and only worsened.

Denize said: “I spent the whole day seeing doctors. I went to an ophthalmologist, a dermatologist and a neurologist.

“They even did a CT scan because they thought it might be a stroke.”

They eventually diagnosed her with eyelid ptosis, which means the botox procedure went wrong and ended up paralysing another part of her body, in this case, her eyelid.

The effects will reportedly last for four to six months but she is desperately trying to find a way to speed up the healing process, according to reports.

The businesswoman said that she even crashed her car because she cannot see properly, explaining that she runs three stores and needs to drive between them during the day, adding that this is the busiest time of year for her.

Denize said she talked to local media to warn other women about the dangers of botox and said that it is really important to work with a trustworthy professional.
