This is the moment a teenager confronts an armed thief who was robbing him of his belongings and is shot three times before the suspect flees with his phone and rucksack.
The incident took place between Bastilla and Federico Baez streets, in the city of Gonzalez Catan, in the province of Buenos Aires, in Argentina, on the afternoon of 29th November.
The thief, wearing a blue and white-stripped hood and black trousers, can be seen riding a bicycle on the quiet street and trailing the 19-year-old who was walking on the pavement.
The thief, finding a convenient area to carry out his mugging, gets off his bicycle and pulls out his gun, pointing it at the teenager.
He then snatched the young man’s backpack and phone.
But just as the thief is getting back on the bicycle and stuffing his gun into his trousers, the teenager lunges at him, with both falling over the bike and ending up on the ground.
The thief quickly shakes off the teenager and gets back up, with the teen getting to his feet too, seemingly unfazed by the thug’s gun.
The teen then grapples with the mugger, who can be seen repeatedly hitting him over the head with the butt of his gun.
The criminal then ran sideways from the teenager to the front of a closed shop, apparently trying to put some distance between himself and the teen so he could make good on his getaway.
The teenager attempted to chase him and the thief appears to shoots him before running away on foot.
The boy held onto his legs and limped away to get medical attention.
The teenager was reportedly taken to Simply Evita Hospital, where he is recovering from three gunshot wounds.
A spokesman for the police said the teenager received three bullet wounds in the pelvis, forearm, and left leg, according to reports.
Cops said that the shots were fired from a 22-calibre gun.
The investigation is ongoing. At the time of writing, no arrests had been made.
