A lawyer who was seized trying to smuggle cocaine and cannabis into a prison hidden inside her vagina is facing drug charges in Brazil.
Attorney Erica Fernanda Rodrigues dos Santos, 31, had told prison officials she had a confidential meeting with a client.
But she was detained when a drugs dog at the Papuda Penitentiary sniffed out her secret stash on 8th August.
Guards had been suspicious when she tried to avoid the sniffer dog but it laid down in front of her, indicating a find.
A body scan revealed 40 packets of marijuana and cocaine weighing more than 100 grammes stuffed inside her vagina.
Police said: “It was found that she was carrying 99 grammes of a substance resembling marijuana and 25 grammes of a substance resembling cocaine in her natural cavities.”
Local media reports that he drugs were intended for three known inmates.
The lawyer was arrested on the spot and taken to the 30th Police Precinct in Sao Sebastiao, in south-eastern Brazil.
Santos was later released on bail after undergoing a custody hearing.
The three inmates who were supposed to receive the drugs also attended the hearing and will face trial.
