This woman’s livestream to her thousands of followers inadvertently shows how her mobile phone was snatched out of her hand by two bike-riding muggers.
In the clip, Simone Gagaus, who has more than 6,000 followers on TikTok, can be heard groaning “oh no, no” as the device is plucked from her hand on 30th July.
Simone, 58, was showing her followers the desolate beauty of a wide stretch of sand in Praia Grande when she was surprised by the bicycle-mounted duo from behind.
One of the crooks had no idea the cameraphone was still filming as he and his accomplice made their speedy getaway along the empty beach.
Simone told local media: “I always face away from the sea to pay attention. When I was saying goodbye to the audience, in just a second, the thief came on a bicycle and grabbed the device from my hand.”
After the shock had passed, Simone went home and called her mum in Sao Paulo to tell her what had happened.
Simone told local media: “I asked her to inform friends and family that I had been robbed to avoid further problems.”
She reported the incident to the police in Praia Grande, who are now investigating. At the time of reporting, no arrests had been made.
Simone’s livestream had been viewed more than 25,000 times at the time of writing.
