This is the fingertip moment when a man perches on his window frame 100 feet above the ground to rescue a girl and her dog from the apartment above.
Nailbiting phone footage of the heroic rescue shows a neighbour standing on tiptoe on the narrow frame to reach up to the teenage girl in Bogota, Colombia, on 7th December.
As she leans out of her fifth-storey window, flames and smoke engulfed the entire top floor.
First, she can be seen handing down her pet dog to her neighbour, who puts the pooch safely through the fourth-floor window.
Then she begins to inch out of her window until she is clinging on by just her fingertips with one foot resting on her rescuer.
As she gets her second foot free, she cautiously begins to lower herself as her neighbour pulls her legs through the window below.
Finally, she lets go, and the crowd gasps as she falls backwards and slams her back into the window frame.
Thankfully, her rescuer holds tight and hauls her into safety.
Local media later quoted neighbour Jeffrey Cruz, who was one of the two that helped in the rescue.
He said: “It was more or less three in the afternoon, I was teleworking, I work in the Ministry of Finance, and I started to hear screams and noises, I looked out and the apartment above was on fire.
“I heard screams, and let’s say that at that moment, you think about what to do, how to react. I heard there was a girl, and I looked out.”
Jeffrey said when another neighbour heard the screams, he went up to Jeffrey’s apartment, and they both helped.
Jeffrey explained: “Between the two of us, we kind of said, ‘Well, let’s do it’.
“He looked out the window, I held him, I grabbed him, I had him with all my strength, and he was able to reach the girl.
“There was a little dog, so the little dog passed by.
“The girl got free; I grabbed her by one leg, he by the other, and we were able to get her in, and fortunately, we were able to save her.”
Astonishingly, reports local media, the girl escaped the blaze unhurt.
